Will solar roof panels/tiles really help save you money in London- and if so wht quantity?

Hi guys- i am looking to doing a roof conversion on my housem and am debating the merits of solar panels or tiles to help reduce my electrcity bills- IS IT WORTH IT??

    I just finished a green home assessment course and the parting comments were “if you take anything from this course make sure it’s the fact that solar panels on domestic applications is THE most expensive way to produce energy”

    Fact is they only produce approximately 1/6 th of the energy needed for each home NB I’m quoting six (6) solar panels roughly 1.2 m x 1m

    the best thing you could do is install a natural slate or clay tile roof. saving future owners re-roofing expenses will result in a far greater long term savings. americans don’t comprehend things like that but you can see the truth where you live. green is just a bandwagon, more toxic products are being created every day for this “movement”.
